Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School senior Matthew Dibble, an Automotive Trades Technology student, is using one of the new automobile lifts installed as part of the renovations and expansion project completed in September.

“The new lift is smaller and better fits these vehicles. It’s safer for everyone involved,” said teacher Randy Barber.

Dibble plans on either entering the military upon graduation this year or going straight into the automotive repair industry.

“I like BOCES because I like working with my hands and not just talking about it in a classroom,” he said.

The capital project that was completed in September and celebrated during a ribbon cutting ceremony in October led to not only the installation of new automotive lifts, but the creation of a Welding and Metal Fabrication program classroom and lab on the Schoharie Campus.
