BKW Elementary will be hosting various enrichment camps this summer at no cost to our families. The camps will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m., with community busing available. Please return registrations by June 10.
Dive into Kindergarten (Students entering kindergarten)
August 1-5 & August 8-12
Students will continue building their literacy foundation and reading skills as they transition into kindergarten. Students will work on phonics skills, sight words and reading beginning level A/B text, while engaging in outdoor games and water play. Camp will be instructed by Miss Leddick.
Dance Camp (Students entering 1st through 6th grade)
July 18-22
Come join Mrs. Malone and Ms. Larkin for a beginner-level dance camp. We will explore different styles of dance including: hip hop, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, team building exercises, etc. Can’t wait to see your dance moves!
Items needed: Water bottle, comfortable/activewear clothing (t-shirt, shorts etc.)
Art Camp (Students entering 2nd-6th grade)
July 5-15
Express your inner artist with materials of your choice: paint, pencil, charcoal, pastel, fibers/textiles, paper mache’, clay, collage, printmaking, natural and recycled materials and many more! Be inspired by nature, under the sea, mythology, folk tales, cultural design, contemporary artists – the list is endless. Spend as much time as you like at any center and engage in imaginative open-ended activities which stimulate your creativity! Camp will be instructed by Ms. Skiff.
STEAM Camp (Students entering 2nd-6th grade)
July 18-22 & July 25-29
Students will work collaboratively to complete STEAM challenges based on the theme of various books. STEAM challenges may involve constructing, cooking, problem solving, creative thinking and more! Camp will be lead by Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Elble, Mr. Haas and Miss Leddick.
Drama Camp (Students entering 4th-6th grade)
July 11-15 & July 18-22
Students will learn and participate in a wide range of acting and creative activities including speech, dramatic movement, improvisation, scene starters, public speaking and creative writing. Students will have the opportunity to work on technique as well as explore new disciplines and genres. If you want to have fun, learn about drama and find your full creative potential – sign up for this camp! Camp will be led by Mrs. Keyser.
Cheer Camp
July 11-15 (Students entering 1st-3rd grade) & July 18-22 (Students entering 4th-6th grade)
Welcome to Cheer Camp! Join us to expand your cheer knowledge, improve skills and form a closer bond with your peers! High school cheerleaders will join us for a week of fun ending with a performance at the end of the week to show off your skills to family and friends. Can’t wait to see you! – Miss Corbett and Ms. Santandrea.
