Dear BKW Families,
As this year comes to a close, all of us at BKW would like to thank you for your unconditional support and cooperation as we worked our way through another challenging school year. We are so proud of the resilience our students have demonstrated and the outstanding instructional growth they have made as we navigated the different situations presented to us by the pandemic.
Please review the following dates and information regarding the remainder of the school year.
- Monday, (6/20) Juneteenth Holiday – No School
- Tuesday, (6/21) Full Day for grades Prek-6
- Wednesday, (6/22) Full Day for grades Prek-6
- Thursday, (6/23) Half Day for grades Pre-k 6 (Buses will leave campus between 11:50-12:00)
- Thursday, (6/23) Last day to register for summer learning programs
Next week, you will receive a copy of your child’s report card, math and reading assessment information, supply lists for next year, and a “BINGO Challenge” board. As a reminder, the boards began a few years back when we received feedback from parents regarding concerns about the regression of skills during the summer. Each square on the board includes age-appropriate activities for students to complete throughout the summer months. The goal of this initiative is to provide families with fun and creative ways to engage in learning while enjoying their time away. Students who turn in their boards to their new teacher in the fall will be invited to participate in a school-wide celebration in September.
Student placement letters will go home the first week in August along with Bulldog Club confirmation letters. As always, please contact the main office with any questions you may have as we finish up the year.
Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable summer with many happy memories.
My best,
Mrs. Landry
