During the 2021-22 school year, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School District transitioned to ParentSquare, a new district-wide communication platform that allows the district, administrators, and teachers to more effectively communicate with families. ParentSquare is currently being used to send updates to our families via email, text and voice. Please note that we will no longer be using Blackboard, ClassTag or Remind for any future communication alerts or updates for the district.
If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to sign-up for ParentSquare. Please visit www.parentsquare.com and sign up using the contact information on file with the school district. This platform will allow you to stay up-to-date and connected with important communication on a classroom, building and district level. This communication platform will play a key role in the distribution of information involving our district, and more importantly, our students.
Additional details
ParentSquare features an app and website, which allows for direct messaging, attendance notifications, sign-ups for parent conferences and classroom events, and direct tracking of forms and permission slips. Additionally, it is compliant with the latest student privacy regulations. It will also eliminate the need for parents to download numerous apps to communicate with multiple teachers.
As we move closer to the 2022-23 school year, the district and your child’s principal will provide additional reminders on the availability/importance of ParentSquare and its convenience in staying connected with our district.
We thank you for your cooperation.
