Theatrical students at BKW will showcase a rootin’ tootin’ good time as they set out to bring the production of ‘Way Out West in a Dress’ to life (written by Billy St. John, with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur). The production, scheduled for March 21-23, is set in 1895 in picturesque Lucky Lady, Nevada, and follows the hijinks of NYC native Clarence Rawlins and his Acting Troupe as they travel to the Wild, Wild West.
This play tells the tale of misreading a will and how it impacts Mr. Rawlin and his friend’s ability to make a living while avoiding sinister plans by a neighboring business.
“I love this year’s production, and it’s perfect for our little cast to perform for our community,” shared BKW junior and BOCES Entertainment Technology program student Julianna Britton. “There’s a lot of singing and dancing and plenty of hoedowns. It’s perfect for our little town.”
“Each year, we try to find a production that not only entertains the audience but also lets our students shine with their talent and dedication,” shared Musical Director Dana Higgins. “This Western Comedy will bring a little something for everyone, and we’re excited to deliver it to our community.”
Tickets will be available for purchase one-hour before the show. Tickets are $7.00 per person.
So, get set for a good time in the BKW community, and come out to support this year’s Wild production. See y’all soon!!
