Final preparations are ongoing as the BKW Theatrical Troupe draws closer to its production of ‘Way Out West in a Dress’ for the school community! The production, scheduled for March 21-23, is set in 1895 in picturesque Lucky Lady, Nevada, and follows the hijinks of NYC native Clarence Rawlins and his Acting Troupe as they travel to the Wild, Wild West.

Today, we share insight with the lead of this year’s production, BKW senior Filo Pray. He has been involved in the district’s theatre production for the past three years and he is eager for the community to attend this year. We were fortunate to catch up with Filo to learn more about his thoughts on his time at BKW and this year being his final performance in the district.

What are your thoughts on this being your final production at BKW?

I am thankful for the opportunity to play important roles and give back to the community. I enjoy acting and performing in front of others. I am definitely cherishing this time.

How does this year’s show differ from other past productions?

We have a lot of younger performers, and we have a lot of cast members which makes things easier. We have enough people this year to fill multiple roles. What we lack in experience is replaced with an incredible bond of teamwork, and this year’s production is coming together nicely.

What legacy do you want to leave at BKW?

For a while, I focused on what I wanted outside of our district. Only after maturing, do I now appreciate what we have at BKW. My legacy is to inspire someone to try a variety of new things without being afraid. Take the chance. BE the mascot, manage a sports team, play sports. Just do it.
