On Friday, March 24, the district held its “First Responder Day” on its school campus. The event, which included local, county, state, and federal first responder agencies and area colleges, was held in the high school gymnasium and at the front entrance of the district campus. The day allowed students to learn the importance of health and safety, along with providing BKW High School students with a first-hand perspective into diverse programs and curriculums at area colleges.
“Our main goal is to provide access to post-secondary opportunities while expanding our student’s ability to learn and grow,” said BKW College and Career Readiness Coordinator Mr. Tidd. “We’ve also expanded this day to include area colleges to share their options with our high school students. We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, and we are pleased to work with the participating agencies and colleges to expand our student’s knowledge and future career opportunities.”
