The BKW fall athletics roundup is here! What a fantastic group of student-athletes to represent our district. In highlighting this season, we would like to thank the coaches and volunteers for their time and guidance for our fall athletic teams.
Varsity Cheerleading
The Helderberg Valley Cheerleaders had a great season! They started the year at Pine Forest Cheerleading Camp in Greeley, PA, where Diana Colavito, Emma Detlefsen, and Branden Redick received All-American recognition, and the team received a superior squad award. Upon returning, the athletes cheered at modified (home) football games and performed at local cheerleading competitions, receiving first-place and two second-place awards. The team finished the season strong, placing second in Sectionals. Emma Detlefsen was recognized as a Section 2 All-Star, and we celebrated our seniors, Lorelei Benson, and Brooke Reamer.
Varsity Boys Soccer
This year’s varsity team had an epic season finishing the year as Western Athletic Conference (WAC) champions with a record of 9-1. BKW was the fifth seed in sectional play and beat Bolton-Warrensburg (who are ranked #2 in the state and were undefeated). This special group of student-athletes finished their season in the sectional semifinals.
Special recognition goes to first-team All-Stars: Jansen Proulx, Joe Harris, and Logan Kapusta. Additional recognition goes to second-team All-Star Jack Jewett.
The 2024-25 team ended the season 13-4-2.
Varsity Girls Soccer
The 2024-25 squad finished the year with an 11-5 overall record, 8-3 in the WAC. The defense on this team was outstanding with leadership from senior sweeper Captain Katie Stevens and senior goalkeeper Captain Morgan Krouse who tallied an impressive 185+ saves and each contributed to posting nine shoutouts. The defense led to one of the most remarkable accomplishments this year as every position player on this team (14 players) contributed to the offense by scoring at least one goal or assisting on at least one goal. This year’s team was led offensively by a trio of sophomores Natalie Tilton with nine goals and five assists, Molly Laudato with eight goals and seven assists, and Madison Pasquini with eight goals and four assists. This was a total team effort all season as we navigated and came together as a merged team. There were four All-Stars represented by the WAC: First-team All-Stars: Morgan Krouse – BKW/DB (12 G) and Katie Stevens – BKW/DB (12 Def). Second-team All-Stars included: Madison Pasquini – BKW/DB (10 Mf) and Natalie Tilton – BKW/DB (10 For).
Varsity Volleyball
This year’s team finished their season with three wins and 13 losses. But those numbers do not match the level of effort, strength, and determination of this year’s volleyball squad. Some key stats from this season:
- Trista Smi was the Most Valuable Offensive Player with 38 aces, 97 total kills, and 36 assists. She was also named to the 1st Team All-Stars.

- Mariah Grant and Ella Roether made the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honorable mention.
