The district recently secured a portion of a $150,000 grant from the Albany County Department of Mental Health, Albany County Department of Children, Youth and Families, and the Albany County Executive’s Office to increase its effort to support anti-bullying and youth violence prevention programming. The district will receive a little over $8,000 to support districtwide programming and outreach to combat the effects of bullying and violence prevention.
“We are fortunate to have developed a proposal that enabled our district to be considered for this impactful outreach,” shared Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Kane. “We feel we can utilize this funding to make a positive impact not only to prioritize safety but also to share opportunities to engage our students on this extremely important topic”
With the funding secured, the district will work towards implementing social-emotional outreach in both buildings.
