Dec. 20, 2012
In annual holiday tradition, from Nov. 12 to Dec. 19 the students from the BKW High School Student Senate and Key Club worked diligently to collect boxes of food and toys for the Hilltown’s Holiday Collection Drive.
Before the drive started they decorated the boxes for donations and helped distribute them around the district. This morning at 10:15 a.m. they loaded up the many boxes of donations and delivered them to the Albany County Sheriff’s office so they can be distributed to the Hilltown residents in need this year.
After 21 years of advising the students and helping collect for this drive, Robert Bentley, a BKW high school social studies teacher says the need for donations keeps getting greater. “Every year our teachers, students, staff and community come through for us. The BKW Teachers Association has really been actively involved, and many of our teachers and staff members have given very generously for a number of years,” Bentley continued. “Their generosity is both overwhelming and heartwarming. I am very proud to be associated with such terrific people and wonderful cause.”
Thank you to those who donated to the Hilltown’s Holiday Collection Drive, and thank you to the students and staff that made a record year of collecting possible!
