Third Grade comes down with ‘Book Madness’

A March Madness style bracket with 16 books listed

Third graders are voting on the Book of the Year in this "March Madness" style bracket. The winner will be announced on April 7.

What book will rule the bracket?

Our 3rd grade students are running a Book Madness Bracket, much like the March Madness Bracket in college basketball.

Students selected 16 books to face off. They read two books competing against each other and vote for the one they like better. The top eight books move on to the Elite 8 and the process starts all over again.

Once March 1 has passed the most voted books from each pair will be brought into the ELITE 8. Then the voting will happen all over again! The students will have until March 20th.
On March 21, the Elite 8 becomes the FINAL 4 and students have until April 3 to read any of the books they may not have read yet. They will vote for each book they believe should make it to the championship. The champion will be announced April 7.

The contenders:

1. Mr. Popper’s Penguins
2. The Witches
3. Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing
