Meet BKW’s Class of 2012 Co-Valedictorians

Xena Pulliam and Victoria Villeneuve named 2012 co-valedictorians

  Xena Pulliam

Xena Pulliam, BKW co-valedictorianAs one of the two BKW Valedictorians this year, Xena Pulliam is a member of two high schools, BKW and Tech Valley High. In the fall she will be attending Hobart and William Smith.

"I’m not really sure what I want to major in," Pulliam said. She loves creative writing and wants to integrate that into her life in some way, whether it be through writing novels or working in advertising.

"I’ve also learned to really like public speaking," she continued. "Tech Valley uses project-based learning, so everything I did there was in teams and required speaking to groups."

At BKW, Pulliam has been a member of the JV and Varsity Basketball teams and of the National Honor Society.

Her advice to the incoming Seniors:

"Take advantage of every opportunity." she said, "Also, try out different things to see what you really like."

 Victoria "Tori" Villeneuve

BKW’s other Valedictorian, Victoria "Tori" Villeneuve is heading to Clarkson University where she’ll be studying biology.

"Biology is very broad, so I want to narrow it down eventually. I’m not sure what I want to do for a career and am considering many things, including something in the medical field." Villeneuve said, "Clarkson is a school very into engineering, so I may get involved in that."

While at BKW, Villeneuve has been involved in many of the art and sport programs. A saxophone player, she said "Music is a big thing" for her and was involved in chorus and band. She played soccer, basketball, and ran track, saying that these were her best high school memories.

Her advice to the incoming Seniors:

"Senior year goes by really quickly. Enjoy your time, but make sure you get your business done. Don’t procrastinate."
