There is still time to register for the Bulldog Basketball Camp at BKW. It will run from June 25 – June 29 and July 30 – August 3 for girls and boys grades 3-8. Please contact coach Tom Galvin [tgalvin@bkwcsd.k12.ny.us] for more information.

BKW students participate in Science and Art Fair

The New York State Track and Field Championships came to a conclusion on Saturday, where Courtney Tedeschi, a BKW junior, finished first in Division II’s 2000m steeplechase race.

Congratulations to Courtney Tedeschi, 2012's 2000m Steeplechase New York State Champion!

 

 

 

 

BKW athletes are on the move! Congratulations to the boys track team for winning their second consecutive class C championship and to Liz Harvey on her selection to the New York all-state second team for basketball!

This year, the girls' varsity basketball team had a record of 18-2 and won the WAC south championship. Congratulations to the lady bulldogs on their successful season and to Kristen Bassler who was selected as a Section 2 scholar athlete for girls' basketball. View Photo

Matt Casullo and Joe Sprung will be the first students from BKW to ever head to the New York State Wrestling Championship to compete for a state title. Come support them in Albany on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25. Read More

Congratulations to the girl's basketball team for advancing to the quarterfinals in the Section II Girl's Basketball tournament. Their qualifying game for the semifinals against Hoosick Falls takes place at 6 p.m. on Friday at Hoosick Valley.

BKW to Honor Modified Sports Players at Winter Banquet, Sponsored by the BKW Sports Booster Club.
Winter modified sports players and their families are invited to attend the Winter Modified Sports Banquet at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 8, in the elementary cafeteria. At the banquet, each player will receive a certificate, and a token of appreciation from the schools athletic department while enjoying pizza, drinks, and desserts offered by the Sports Booster Club. Student-athletes should RSVP to their coaches by Tuesday, March 6. Hope to see you there! Click here for the invitation.

With the cheerleaders, the girls' j.v. and varsity basketball teams raised over $500 for the American Cancer Society through the Coaches vs. Cancer program by selling $1 donation cards. Thank you to all who donated and to the cheerleaders and basketball teams for their efforts.

The BKW wrestlers hosted and won the Section 2, Division 2, Class 3 Wrestling Championship in the new gym on Feb. 4. The wrestlers broke numerous school records, one of which was sending 8 competitors to the Division 2 State Qualifier on Feb. 10-11. One BKW junior, Joe Sprung, will be heading to the state championship in Albany on Feb. 24. Congrats to the team!

Sports physicals will be held Feb. 28, 2012. Anyone wishing to play a spring sport must have a current physical on file. Sign up for a physical in the health office and call the school nurse, Mrs. Besha at 872-1482 ex. 3, if you have any questions.

The BKW Boys and Girls Cross-Country Teams won the Western Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday at Ft. Plain and 13 team members were named to the league all-star team. read more

The BKW Varsity Cheerleaders motivated and cheered for more than 15,000 walkers at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Washington Park on Oct. 16. read more

Volleyball players raise $1,000 for Power of Pink

BKW ladies volleyball teamThe BKW Ladies Volleyball program has had a busy season.

Currently 8-1 in the WAC and in first in the WAC South by 4 full matches, the team has also been busy helping others when not dominating the court.

On Sept. 28, the team wore itself out raising funds to strike out at breast cancer by performing more than an hour of spiking drills to raise money for the Power of Pink Tournament, which was held on Oct. 1 at Queensbury High School.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill that will require students who may have suffered a concussion in a school sport or gym class to be sidelined for at least 24 hours. read more
